I am a free software and surroundings philosophy hacker.
Freedom is what I love and I like to share and get to know new hacks and philosophies to get to a free as in freedom of speech society.
I love the GPL license because it can apply to not only software but also hardware, long life to the MIT, the license that does not ignites flames :) .
I always look for the philosophy behind a project before spending more time on it. When I joined the RepRap project, I did it for the philosophy, you can find it here: https://reprap.org/wiki/PhilosophyPage
On point 6.2 Adrian Bowyer's Keynote Address refers to a free pharma idea.
That point in my opinion became reality with this projeccravet: https://fourthievesvinegar.org/microlab-suite
The Four Thieves Vinegar Collective is an anarchist collective dedicated to enabling access to medicines and medical technologies to those who need them but don’t have them. Right to Repair–for Your Body is their philosophy. I love the humor they use in their join us page https://fourthievesvinegar.org/join-us . Why not try to have fun whenever it is possible, even if one is hacking-working ?
:D
Here there is a list of fully free licenses or compatible ones:
https://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html
I try to use the term free over open as much as possible, because I do not want to miss a chance to speak about the importance of freedom and respect for the users, in all aspect of life, software is just a part of our life, and free software should be a right, just like freedom of speech.
If you are interested in the motivation of why for the goal of a free society-community using the term free is recommended-suggested over the term open, here a nice article: https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/open-source-misses-the-point.html
That is all what is needed to help the fight of the FSF https://www.fsf.org/associate for securing the 4 essential freedoms in our life.
You can find the four essential freedoms page here:
https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.html#four-freedoms
I will paste them below too:
A program is free software if the program's users have the four essential freedoms:
The freedom to run the program as you wish, for any purpose (freedom 0).
The freedom to study how the program works, and change it so it does your computing as you wish (freedom 1). Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help others (freedom 2).
The freedom to distribute copies of your modified versions to others (freedom 3). By doing this you can give the whole community a chance to benefit from your changes. Access to the source code is a precondition for this.
--- so who like the four freedoms ? ---
o.O '~ _ ~' O.o
^^ off topic time below ^^ :D
This is a reminiscence from my youth:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Harlock : Matsumoto presents a future (2977 AD) in which the Earth has achieved a vast starfaring civilization, but is slowly and steadily succumbing to ennui or despair, often due to defeat and subjugation by a foreign invader. Rising against the general apathy, Harlock denies defeat and leads an outlaw crew aboard his starship Arcadia to undertake daring raids against Earth's oppressors. Even though they have defeated Earth and devastated its peoples, the invaders are often presented in a sympathetic light, being shown as having some justification for their actions.

Do you like the idea of a free as in freedom of speech society? Are you reading about this concept just now? It does not matter what you know or do not know, there is a chance of learning or sharing at any interactions.
The idea is to meet and talk or show about freedom related projects. Just to make a chat with fellow hacker. I will bring related stickers, and some GNU flags. The flags are the last few I have, I want to do another batch, I am open to suggestion on how to make the ne… Read more

I love freedom, and what I love to read about a project is the philosophy that pushes it - is it lust for freedom, or just desire to demonstrate that is possible to achieve some better results with less resources?
In this talk I'd like to share some links and general knowledge on free software, free hardware and surrounding projects.
It is not illegal to make money using free software, it is quite the contrary.
What is is not accepted is the absence of respect for the us… Read more
