This talk is based on my experiences working with power save mode for APs in IEEE 802.11 as a Sky/Comcast standards representative. It follows the trajectory of better power save features in residential gateways and routers from regulatory inception through corporate planning and into the IEEE 802.11bn project description. A different version of this talk was given at the ULB IT Summer School 2024.
